Several patients nominated him for the award: One noted: “He is compassionate, shows empathy and manages to put a smile on my face.” Another patient described him as a “wonderful diagnostician and sensitive caregiver who never makes us feel rushed.”
Those words of praise didn’t necessarily come as a surprise to Rejer’s colleagues, including Dr. Christopher Doehring, vice president of medical affairs.
“Since his days in residency to his current position as a family doctor and residency teacher, Dr. Rejer has exemplified the mission of the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration,” Doehring said. “His genuine concern and easygoing nature make him a favorite with patients.”
Rejer, a member of Franciscan Physician Network Southeast Family Medicine, graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Franciscan Health.
