An open house to celebrate the grand opening of Robin’s Closet, a clothing pantry at Mount Zion General Baptist Church, 3565 S. Keystone Ave., will be held from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday.
Named after Robin Grove, who envisioned the pantry before dying of cancer March 21, the pantry provides nice clothing to the needy.
“We will be a good resource for people who have been burned out of their homes,” said Darolina “Dara” DeBurger, who’s spearheading the project. “We still need boys clothing and new underwear and socks for children of all ages. And if someone needs a nice outfit to wear to an interview but can’t afford one, they can call me at 317-625-6648 to see if we have anything suitable.”
Deburger said she doesn’t know what kind of business to expect, so she hasn’t set up any fixed hours. “People can just call me for an appointment.”
