The early service will be followed by a family carnival until 2 p.m. The event will feature children’s games, face painting, food vendors, balloons and music. With the exception of food, the carnival is free.
The church, 6822 N. U.S. 31, Whiteland, has served the community for more than 30 years, the past 17 under Pastor Wayne Murray, whose first worship service was attended by only 26 people.
Murray, who is assisted by wife Traci, said the unique center can accommodate 1,200 people in stadium-style seats.
The church was hit by lightning in January 1999, which necessitated the construction of a permanent sanctuary in 2000. During that construction the building frame was blown down by a rare wind storm in January.
