The Marion County portion of the relay will commence at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway before passing Marian University, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Butler University, the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, Monument Circle, Fountain Square, Lucas Oil Stadium and many more.
Nearly 2,000 torchbearers will carry the torch 3,200 miles as it passes through 260 cities and towns and all 92 counties. Modes of transportation that are representative of Indiana culture and heritage will be utilized.
The route will showcase sites of beauty, local interest and historic significance, including state and national parks, lakes and rivers, universities, museums, monuments and other landmarks. The route was designed to inspire Hoosiers and promote unity across the state by connecting people, communities and regions.
Accompanying the torch will be a high-tech mobile experience – an interactive museum that highlights important milestones during Indiana’s first 200 years while looking ahead to the state’s future.
