I’ve been to Carole’s Fitness about 12 times, and as a man in his 60s, it is pretty humbling to have a woman of similar age exercise circles around me.
Carole Pefley, who owns the fitness center at 5661 Madison Ave., is in amazing shape. She can sure teach you a few moves, and being a second degree black belt sure helps.
Since I have started exercising weekly at Carole’s, I have noticed a firming of my body, a minor weight loss, and my blood pressure seems to be getting lower. I also exercise twice weekly at my home.
That being said, the equipment that I use at my home is not going to break anyone’s bank. All you need is a set of 2- and 3-pound weights to get started. Carole has all the other necessary equipment at her center.
Doing the exercises correctly in very important, so I recommend going to her classes until you have perfected the proper technique. I have been to some fitness places where there doesn’t seem to be anyone around to train you. After signing in you are pretty much on your own.
Well that’s a two-edged sword: There’s no one to bother you, but there’s also no one to instruct you.
Instruction is what I needed and at a comfortable price. And that’s where Carole’s Fitness comes in.
If you are a man 50 years of age, you might just be surprised at how Pefley can help you get in better shape.
Just for the record, “round” is a shape, but maybe not the shape you were hoping for.
