Roncalli senior Chloe Owen has received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy. The application process required a nomination from a local congressman and passing a medical exam.
Completing the admissions process was the most stressful thing I have ever done,” she said. “Each step felt like its own project, and it was difficult to stay motivated while completing it in the midst of homework, cross-country and swimming.”
Owen, daughter of Dean and Tammy Owen, challenged herself academically by taking several Advanced Placement and honors courses. She plans to study aeronautical and astronautical engineering at the academy and hopes to serve as a naval pilot upon graduation.
