He is a member of the Fleet Reserve Association (branch 130) where he serves as master at arms and custodian of the ship model. The model of the U.S.S. Indianapolis is usually located in the Museum of 20th Century Warfare at Fort Harrison State Park, Indianapolis. He continues to correspond to students who have sent him letters so they can learn about the legacy of the famed World War II ship. FRA branch 130 meets on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Greenwood VFW, 333 S. Washington St., Greenwood. The U.S.S. Indianapolis Memorial branch holds its breakfast meeting the second Tuesday of each month at Denny’s South Park at Main Street and I-65 in Greenwood at 9 a.m. The Fleet Reserve Association is open to Veterans of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.
