He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Betty Ward.
He is survived by brothers, Garry Ward (Mary Jane Rodgers-Ward), Jeff Ward, and sister, Cindy Dye; nieces, Kara Ward, Lindsey Chandler and Jennifer Stowers; great-nieces, Willow, Jasmine and Brea; nephews, Mike Dye and Brian Ward-Silvey; and great-nephews, Maxwell and Keegan; and soulmate and dear friend, Elisha Helton.
Jerry graduated from Southport High School in 1983 and Indiana University, with a Bachelor of Political Science in 1988. He loved the sport of Racing and collecting Baseball cards.
Jerry enjoyed going to the Indy 500 and Indianapolis Speedrome. He also loved taking family trips to the Florida Keys.
Jerry lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and concern for others. Jerry will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched, and especially by his work family at McCammon’s Irish Market.
The visitation will be held Thursday, August 3rd at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home between 5 and 8 p.m. with services to follow. It is located at 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46225.
He proudly served as a member of the Indiana National Guard for nine years. He had an accomplished career as a Chief Financial Officer at many companies including Katz, Sapper & Miller and Emmis Broadcasting.
Larry was incredibly charitable. He had a passion for trains, gun collecting, frequenting the shooting range, studying the military, history (especially Vietnam), dogs, and was always planning that next cruise or road trip with Sharyn.

FRANKLIN “FRANK” D. BREEDEN, 87, wife, Phyllis Breeden; daughters, Lori (James Prosch), and Julie Breeden; siblings, Bill (Pauline) Breeden, Jill (Terry Englert) Mobley, Cindy (Don) Foster.
He was a 1955 graduate of Manual High School. Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, where he served as stewardship chairman and later as council president.
He worked in sales at Friden’s Inc., APD Auto Parts, and W-I Motor Supply. He loved sports, golf, and was a Colts season ticket holder for 35 years. He attended 59 runnings of the Indianapolis 500.

JANE SHUSTER HARTY, 88, widow of Ray; children, Doug (Debbie) Harty, Pam Van der Werff (John) and Jill Harty Bowman; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She was a teller at the National Bank of Greenwood and worked her way up to Executive Secretary at BankOne. She loved making her clients feel special and giving wise financial counsel. She always had time to give older people at her teller’s window an encouraging pat on the hand.
More recently, she lived at Greenwood Village South, where she loved, and was well loved by, the “girls” on her floor.

ALAN HARWELL, 71, brother, David Harwell (Jackie); former wife, Maryann Harwell; daughter, Heather Mann (Jason); one granddaughter.
He graduated from Ball State where he was a brother of the fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha and received a bachelor’s degree in education in 1974. His career focused on sales where he retired as an account executive for Morton Salt Company. His life enjoyments were time spent with his family, friends and sports.

BARBARA FAY HUMPHREY, 88, husband, Gene Humphrey; brothers, Robert (Orathai) and Michael Jackson (Gale).
Barbara entered this life at the home of her maternal grandparents on High Street just a few hundred yards from Eli Lilly & Co. headquarters where she ultimately spent over 39 years enjoying her work. Her grandfather, father and two uncles were at Lilly before her. She was not the last, however, as her brothers Robert and Michael were not too far behind her. The Jackson and Sierp families had close to two hundred years at Lilly.

DIANA GRACE JOSEPH, 72, husband, Richard Joseph; children, Kevin (April) Joseph and Lisa (Marty) Tetrick; four grandchildren; sisters, Gail Keesee and Tina Langley.
She graduated from Manual High School. Diana worked as a Media Center Secretary for Franklin Central High School and retired after 20 years. Diana was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband during his trade show setups across the U.S.
Diana enjoyed shopping anywhere in the world and loved garage sales with her sisters.

PHILLIP “PHIL” ALLEN KEMPLE, 81, widower of Linda Kemple; sons, Mark (Rachel) and Aaron (Anna) Kemple; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Air Force. Phil worked several jobs throughout his life, including General Motors (UAW Local 23) and GM Truck & Bus. He enjoyed woodworking, home projects, and Colts and Indiana basketball. He was a faithful caregiver for Linda in her final years.
Phil and Linda worshiped with the Greenwood Church of Christ for over four decades.

JOSEPH “JOE” PETER LESKOW, 87, widower of Sandra Leskow; children, Susan (Chuck) Barr and Jennifer (Rod) Brummett; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Grace Kiessling, Nellie Brown and Roland Leskow.
Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army, then he worked as a District Manager for Beneficial Finance and retired after 40 years of service. Joe was a member of St. Francis and Claire Church and was previously a member of St. Barnabas Church.
Joe enjoyed watching baseball and going fishing. He made sure to keep his family at the center of his life.

JON THOMAS LIVINGSTON, 90, widower of Geraldine Livingston; children, Linda Raber and Jon Ryan (Cara) Livingston; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Margie Stanley.
Jon attended Manual High School with the class of 1952. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force.
Jon was employed with People’s Outfitting Furniture Company and retired after 40 years. He was a member of the Southport Christian Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Jon enjoyed boating on Lake Shafer, traveling, snowmobiling, NASCAR, horse racing and trips to Las Vegas.

ROY E. MAJOR III, 53, children, Rayiha Sims Major, Chris; father, Roy Major Jr.; siblings, Keith Major, Paul Riley, Melissa Cunningham Judy Major; stepmothers, Jolinna Major and Shirley Major.
Roy served as a shipping supervisor for 23 years at KYB in Franklin, Indiana.

NORA E. OWENS, 89, widow of Jerry Owens; children, Cherrie (Gary) Agan, Jeff (Sheryl) Owens and Judy (Scott) Veerkamp; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary, Cletis, Gale and Roger.
Nora worked as a meat packer for Rath. She went on to work at Kroger in the Deli and Bakery until retiring. Nora was a member of Indian Creek Christian Church.
She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was a sports fanatic and enjoyed watching a variety of sports. Nora enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers.

DANIEL JOSEPH PIERLE, 76, wife, Christine Pierle; children, Regina (Bryan) Ashley, Angela (Thomas) Kraft Matthew (Stephanie) and Daniel (Emily) Pierle, II; siblings, LeeAnn Briggeman, Donna Wheeler, Michael (Sally), and Gary (Judy) Pierle; nine grandchildren.
He worked as a Construction Engineer for 44 years prior to retirement for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT).
Dan was involved in his church and community at St. Roch Catholic Church, serving for many years as athletic director as well as in many other volunteer capacities. He was an avid sportsman, playing softball, running, rooting for the Cubs and Colts, and attending as many games and activities of his children and grandchildren as he could.

THOMAS E. REPASS, SR., 73, wife, Tamara; sister, Peggy Marshall; children, Nicole White (Mike), Thomas Repass, Jr. (Tami), Mary Harris (Travis), Stephanie Wilson (TJ), and Anthony Repass (Dakota); numerous grandchildren.
Thomas was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of Franklin Central High School. He graduated from Purdue University in 1976, after which he spent more than 30 years building homes.
He was an avid Harley enthusiast and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a man of God and was passionate about serving Angels of East Africa’s South Sudanese orphanage.

Joe was a 50+ year member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood and proud U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He worked for Western Electric until 1985.
Joe was an avid antique, postcard and Christmas-time memorabilia collector. He was the last surviving charter member of the Indianapolis Postcard Club.
Joe actively participated in Indiana State Fair “Antiques and Collectables” competitions. He was also a passionate singer.

Ann was a licensed Property and Casualty insurance agent.
She was a devoted Christian. Her happiest times were being with family and friends. She was a member of the Red Hats and the Greenwood Library Prime Time Book Club. Her favorite past time was reading, board games, cards, and cross-book puzzles.
