SUBMITTED PHOTO Members of Perry Meridian High School’s student council attended the Jostens Renaissance National Conference in Orlando, Fla. Chaperoned by Principal Rolland Abraham and faculty members Emily Steinmetz, Nikki Knight and Jacqui Sheehan, the students – and educators – attended workshops designed to motivate them to make sure that all students have a role in making their school better. “It is about giving all students recognition and a voice,” said junior class president Raul Moreno. “Giving students a voice lets them take ownership of their school, and this forms a connection between the school and the students.” The students – with Emma Davidson lying on them are (from left) Moreno, Mesa Sebree, Karly Fraker, Olivia Kavanaugh, Michael Mead, Molly Brodzeller and Luke Greenwood.
