Perry Meridian senior Morgan Winkler has signed a letter of intent to play softball at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill.

Winkler, a catcher who hit .391 last year, is a three-year varsity letter winner. She plays for the Edgewood Elite Bulldogs in the off-season and finished the recent campaign with a .375 batting average, five homers, eight doubles, one triple and 18 RBIs.

“I chose ONU because of its outstanding athletic department, as well as their amazing exercise science program,” she said. “I love the family atmosphere and the beauty of the campus.
“A special thanks goes to my strength/conditioning coach, Brad Edwards, and my hitting coach, Mike Baker,” for all their help.

Winkler, daughter of Dawn Winkler-Parmelee and Eric Winkler and brother to Cody, said she aspires to become a strength and conditioning coach.
