(30-7) – Coach Missy (Abbott) Marsh at helm for 11th year … fell to Avon in regional championship … graduated four seniors … scrappy athletic team … returns with experienced back row, all-county/all-conference sophomore libero Emma Halter (team-high 766 digs) with seniors Grace Irmer (282 digs), captain Elizabeth Origer (team-high 1,085 assists, 37 digs) and Molly Roeder … freshman setter Faith Birch to have impact … front row, not so experienced … hitters include fourth-year starter/captain Abby Johnson, junior Miranda Wilson (224 kills), senior Sydney Geibel and soph Olivia Murphy … young middle hitters, sophs Alivia Hill and Sara Lezon … seek fourth straight Circle City Conference title and third straight sectional trophy.
Coach’s comments: “Our young girls are going to have to grow quickly because they are a big part of our offense. They have played at a high level, but it will be a journey and a big learning curve. Our experience is in our back row and setting. Our seniors provide leadership and encouragement for the younger players. Our confidence is in our defense. Our front row must develop fast in their blocking. Our returnees know what it feels like to win. This season will be a marathon, not a sprint for us. Our in-season tournaments will help our younger players adjust to the speed of the game. Be assured, Roncalli will get it together.”
