The No. 1-ranked Trojans edged Perry Meridian 295-300. Franklin Central tied Franklin for third with 314 strokes, but the Grizzly Cubs’ No. 5 golfer shot better, which served as the tie-breaker.
The Trojans, Falcons and Grizzly Cubs tee off Thursday at the Henryville Regional at Champions Pointe Golf Club.
CG freshman Noah Gillard shot an even-par 72, which threw him into a four-way playoff for medalist honors against Greenwood’s Eric Moenkhaus, Franklin Central’s Brady Vaughan and Perry Meridian’s Nick Osterburg, who won the playoff.
Christopher Heck fired a 73 for the Trojans, Zach Carrabine, 74; Ethan Shepherd, 76; and Austin Crowder, 77.
Osterburg, Brad Sprinkle, 73; Landon Price, 76; and Chris Allman, 79; accounted for Perry Meridian’s score.
Other Southside golfers advancing are Moenkhaus, Vaughan and Roncalli’s Brayden Stegemiller.
