Southport won its eighth consecutive Conference Indiana football game against Bloomington North by defeating the Cougars 42-7 Friday.
Junior quarterback Eddie Scott had another big night for the Cards with four touchdown passes – a pair to Ryan Lezon and one each to Rashawn Haskins and Matt Munoz.
Southport led 28-7 at halftime and never looked back.
Adding to the offensive firepower were rushing touchdowns of 38 yards by Jalen Caldwell and a 2-yard plunge by LaMarco Yates.
The win improved Southport’s overall record to 5-3 and 5-1 in conference play.
The Cardinals’ final regular-season game is at home Friday against league rival Columbus (7-1, 5-1) on senior night.
