Sharon “Kay” Tingle, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away February 6, 2023. She was born October 19, 1943 in Shelbyville, IN, to Kenneth Dale and Frances Catherine McComas Thurston, who proceeded her in death. Kay was a graduate of Shelbyville High School. She married Richard F. Tingle, February 24, 1978. Kay had a forty year career in sales with Shelbyville Steel, O’Neal Steel and retiring from Action Steel. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and gambling.
Kay is survived by her loving husband of nearly 45 years, Richard F. Tingle; children, David L. Tingle (Susan), Dianne Harrison (Keith), Dana Deluca and R. Andrew Tingle (Arielle); brother, Daniel Thurston, Sr.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, Nicole Cazzell, preceded her in death. The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Franciscan Health & Hospice for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 2-6 p.m. at the Timber’s Clubhouse, 4201 S. Sherman Dr., 46237. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rise Learning Center, 5391 Shelby St., Indianapolis, IN 46227. Final care and arrangements were entrusted to Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel.


JOHN P. BOHANNON, JR., 94, widower of  Mary Bohannon; sister, Sandra Hubbell; children, Glen (Jeanne) and Paul (Donna) Bohannon, Kathleen (Thomas) Gilmore, Sarah Koehler; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
John was a long-time resident of Beech Grove, IN. In 2007, he was recognized by the City of Beech Grove as “Renaissance Man” and Citizen of the Year. John was employed by Western Electric for 35 years. After retiring, he worked for Beech Grove schools as a custodian.
He and Mary toured all 50 states, Canada, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Central America.

ARLIE STEVENSON BROCK, 73, wife, Diana; children, Michael and Christina Albers Brock, Lisa and Don Metheny; nine grandchildren; siblings, Lonnie, Larry, Eddie, Rejina and Brian Brock.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam and then stationed at Fort Hood after finishing technical school as a Radio Technician. He served by utilizing radio surveillance equipment during the Vietnam conflict.
He retired from Ameritech/AT&T. His hobbies included RC airplanes, tinkering with the surround sound system in the living room, fishing, hunting, as well as maintaining the koi pond he had built in the backyard.

WILLIAM “BILL” THOMAS CECIL, 75, widower of Angie; children, Michelle (Kevin) Martin, Deanna Bolton and Kimberly (Will) Hendricks; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Tony Cecil and Pam Zeigler.
He graduated from Center Grove High School, class of 1965. Bill and Angie shared 45 years of marriage. Bill served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a handwork operator for Tube Processing and retired in 2008 after 42 years. Bill enjoyed fishing and NASCAR. He was a part of the Tube Processing Bowling league and enjoyed participating in Civil War reenactments.

EDWARD NEIL “SPIKE” COOPER JR., 85, widower of Dorothy; children, Suzanne Pritchett (Brandon), Ricky and Joseph Cooper; stepdaughters, Kandee Griezer and Kelly Kline; siblings, Jean, Mary, Saundra and Tim; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Edward graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1954. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he proudly served his country for nearly 20 years.
He was a retired U.S. Marine and Security Officer. He also was a bus driver for Perry Township for many years. He loved spending time with his family and shopping.
Visitation is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 E. Hanna Ave. A memorial service will follow and military honors will be performed.

DEANNA KAY DAHL, 80, widow of Myron “Butch” Dahl; children, Sherri and Jeff (Annette) Dahl, Sharon Winslow; five grandchildren; one great-grandson.
She was a homemaker, who was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. She and Butch retired to Florida 30 years ago. She enjoyed gardening and crafting.

SHELLEY LYNN DAY, 58, children, Brittney, Heather, Erin and Paul; siblings, Gwen, Kevin and Ronnie; five grandchildren.
Shelley loved visiting the beach and taking road trips. She enjoyed dancing, solving puzzles with her friends, and spending time with her family. She loved chocolate and would guard her sweets like they were gold.

BRIAN KEITH DECKARD, 59, parents, Rev. Robert R. and Mable “Rose” Deckard; wife, Pam; children, Joshua Deckard, Tabatha (Michael) McKenna; three grandchildren; siblings, Steven (Louise) and Randy (Tammy) Deckard, Bonita Pullon, Belinda (Jesse) Begley.  
An avid outdoorsman with a passion for gardening, Brian felt bonded with nature and respected the connection he had with all of God’s creations. Brian enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was digging in the dirt to plant flowers or picking vegetables from a carefully tended garden. Brian worked at MeadWestvaco and Colonial Brick.

DAVID J. ENDRES, 80, wife, Eileen Endres; children, Dr. Erik (Kim) Endres and Darlene (Oscar) Rivas; several grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth, Leo, Richard, Paul and Carol Endres, Marlene Sveum-Rutz, Maryann Gosda.
David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a graduate of Maryland University. He was employed by the USDA, and RUS for many years. David was a member of St. Francis & Clare Catholic Church. He was also a member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing.

DELORES A. HENDERSHOTT, 89, widow of Norman Hendershott; children, Robin (Steve) Davis, Debbie (D.J) Wheeler, Terry (Margy) Hendershott and Kimberly (Juston) Spurling; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Delores loved traveling and spending time with her family. She loved cooking, decorating and everything to do with the holidays. She loved reading, watching the Pacers and the Colts play.

ARLENE MARIE KLUNDER, 87, widow of Robert; children, Robert A. (Mary) and Thomas (Paula) Klunder, Beth (Michael) and Faith (Jim) Lockwood; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Ardene) and Ed (Karen) Ritzema, Jeanette (Jim) Vellenga.
Arlene was a homemaker and devoted her time and attention to her husband and family. She was known for hospitality and her home was an oasis of peace and calm. She enjoyed visiting her son, working in her garden, tending her flowers and feeding the birds. She was gifted at sewing.

PHILLIP G. LUCAS, 72, wife, Debra Lucas; children, Carla (Eric) Marion, Lisa (Casey) Phillips and Jessica (Neil) Ferguson; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; siblings, Sheila (Ben) Burger, Bruce Lucas and Elaine (Greg) Kreegar.
Phil enjoyed many hobbies in his free time. He loved going fishing with his fellow club members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be at the German-American Klub, 8602 S. Meridian St., Saturday, March 11, 2023. Lunch will be served from 1 p.m. until the start of the service at 2:00 p.m. Fellowship following the service from 3-4 p.m.

MICHAEL ETHAN EUGENE MAIN, mother, Martha Main; siblings, Harold Main, Mindy Murphy (Sean Patrick).
Michael graduated from Beech Grove High school in 1989, then graduated from Manchester College and the University of Toledo. He went on to teach at several Universities in Illinois. He was an artist, writer, poet, musician, teacher, gardener, designer and builder of ponds. He was a caregiver for many, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

CLAUDE JAY MCINTOSH, 42, parents, Claude McIntosh, Sr. and Angella McIntosh; sons, Claude “Trey” McIntosh, III and Shawn Henley; one granddaughter.
Jay was a very handy person who enjoyed building speaker cabinets with his father and being an electrician. He helped care for his father while his mother was at work to make sure he had his meds and did what he needed to do. His father called him his “little soldier.”

RICARDO LEE “RICK” MIERS, 67, children, Melissa (Daniel) Carmin, Josh and Michael Miers; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; longtime companion, Terri Williams; mother, Margaret Kissner; sister, Kim (Gregg) Miers-Hohlt.
Rick was an electrical contractor for most of his life. He ultimately started his own business in 2011. Rick enjoyed most outdoor activities like fishing, camping and boating. He also enjoyed tinkering around and working on projects in his barn. He was a great cook and loved gardening and canning.

EMMA JEAN SIMON, 85, widow of Robert P. Simon; children, T.J., Paul, Stephanie and Mark Sipes, Vicky Best, Faith Coffin, Tammy Wilson, Andy and Angie Dollinger; 22 grandchildren; 21-great grandchildren.
She worked at Speed Queen as manager for over 30 years, only retiring recently. She enjoyed spending time with her family, making crafts, baking, cooking, sewing and quilting, gardening, and collecting items.

SHERMAN LEE STRAHLA, 92, widower of Ruth; children, Richard and James Strahla, Sarah (Frank) Caudill; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Sherman graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelors in Science and a Master’s degree. Sherman married his high school sweetheart, Ruth and they enjoyed 68 years of wonderful marriage.
Sherman spent military time in the Indiana National Guard, active duty in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserve. He was a farmer, mechanic and a school teacher for 35 years. He enjoyed teaching and helping students.
