Janet was a graduate of Manual High School, University of Indianapolis, Ball State University and Indiana Wesleyan. She was a nurse for 32 years at Methodist, Community Hospitals East and South, Cancer Navigator at Hendricks Regional Health, she also was a past nursing professor at Ivy Tech, and currently at Harrison College. She was nominated for Nurse of the Year in 2005, had articles in Indiana Nursing Quarterly, Hendricks Health Line and The Hendricks County Flyer regarding the new Navigator program which has become a great success to all cancer patients.
Janet lived life to the fullest and loved boating. She will be missed by many. Come join us for a “Celebration of Life” from 5-8 p.m. on Nov. 21, 2015 with eulogy at 6:30 p.m. at Pipers Grand Manor, 2130 W. Southport Road.
He was very active in Boy Scouts of America and served as scoutmaster for over 40 years. He was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award from the BSA. Vic was a lifelong southsider and member of St. Mark Catholic Church. He enjoyed waterskiing, camping, spending time with friends and family, volunteering, and helping others. Vic was preceded in death by his parents; his sister-in-law, Ellen Somes and is survived by his wife, Hazel Ann (Schwarder) Risch; children, Carl Lloyd Risch (Connie), Leah Ann Jones (Matt), Andrew William “Andy” Risch; grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Risch, Griffin and Ethan Jones; sister, Anna Marsh; brothers, Chuck Risch (Mary), Paul Risch; nieces and nephews, Heather Somes, Alicia Keaton (Glenn), Danette Goen (Todd), Sabrina Angrick, Ann Kafka (Todd), Brian Risch (Meghan), Eric Risch (Wendy), Joe Marsh (Angie); great nephew, Lukas Keaton.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in St. Mark Catholic Church. Visitation was held at Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home. Karrie was known for her fun sense of humor and her laugh was contagious. She loved spending time with her family. Her daughters and granddaughters were her life.
