Superintendent of Perry Township Schools

As we approach the end of this year, we look forward to the improvements that await our students and staff in 2017.

We are committed to being good stewards of the money that has been entrusted to us by our taxpayers. We vow to make responsible, cost-efficient decisions to create the best possible environment for 21st century learning.

As our enrollment increases we are keenly focused on meeting the needs of our growing student population and planning for the future of the community. It’s also important that we keep our stakeholders informed of the improvements along the way and express our appreciation to the contractors who are making it happen.

We are pleased with the progress construction crews are making around the district. They’ve worked long hours in the heat, rain and cold to keep our projects moving forward. We have tremendous gratitude for their expertise and commitment.

At Winchester Village Elementary a significant portion of renovations will be complete this month. When students return to school after Christmas break, their learning environment will be transformed. They will be met by their teachers in renovated classrooms instead of the portable ones that have been in place for months. At the start of the year seven of those trailers will be removed.

Weather permitting, crews hope to complete renovations at Winchester Village around spring break.
Construction of our kindergarten academies at Burkhart, Mac-Arthur, Rosa Parks and Jeremiah Gray elementary schools is also moving forward at an encouraging pace. Just as the cold weather has started to creep into our area, crews are finishing exterior work.

Once they enclose the roofs and windows and ensure the building is weather-tight, they will begin work on the interior. The academies are well on track for completion to welcome our kindergartners for the 2017-18 school year.

It’s been such an honor to see the projects, which were once merely dreams and blueprints, take shape thanks to the support of our devoted community and the hard work of talented contractors. We look forward to seeing our visions come to fruition as we meet the evolving needs of our students and staff and cultivate a positive learning environment that encourages student achievement now and into the future.
