(SUBMITTED PHOTO) Nativity Catholic School students, from left, Audrey May, Grace Daming, Theresa May, Gianna Miller and Mary Renshaw recently led the way for a mini-concession stand to be available for spectators during kickball games and to raise funds for the school’s Student Lighthouse Team to donate to charities. Previously there were no beverages or snacks available at Nativity kickball games. The five students presented a slide show and a proposed budget to school principal Terri Bianchini who praised the students.

Bethany Community Gardens volunteers honored Ginny Roberts of Purdue Extension-Marion County after her 20 years of service in agriculture and natural resources. She served as a specialist at many schools and community organizations as they began gardens and also offered gardening programming. Roberts was honored during an end-of-season luncheon at Bethany Lutheran Church, 4702 S. East St. The celebration cake reads: “You changed the landscape and heart of Indianapolis.” |
