SUBMITTED PHOTO Danielle Freeman and her 8-year-old daughter, Paige Martin, read together at Southport Library to earn points for prizes in The Indianapolis Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, Beatz & Books, which continues through July 25 at all branch sites and Beech Grove Library. Beatz, the program’s mascot and top reading dog, will be every young reader’s best friend and jammin’ book jockey by enthusiastically woof-woofing and tweeting about recent book releases, hot tracks and classic hits for participants to check out. Readers can enter a drawing to win two $529 scholarships good toward a college savings account. Info 275-4099 or visit www.indypl.org.
