They were recognized for their unwavering commitment to Catholic education and for the leadership they provide the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Seen with Archbishop Joseph Tobin, the couple have proven to be a catalyst behind the growth and positive change within the educational landscape of the archdiocese and in Indiana. Mr. Elsener has been a teacher, principal and superintendent in Wichita, Kan., and Indianapolis. The Elseners have nine children, all of whom graduated from Roncalli.

SUBMITTED PHOTOS About 115 walkers – more than twice as many as last year – participated in Saturday’s 5K Beautify Beech Grove Family Fun Walk. While enjoying their stroll down reconstructed Main Street, participants raised money through pledges to help purchase flags for the light poles along Ninth Avenue. Even someone’s cute little canine companion got in on the fun.
