Jeffrey Spencer Jeffrey Spencer has been named the new principal at Southport Elementary School.
Spencer comes to the district from the Washington Discovery Academy in Plymouth, Ind., where he served as building principal for the past two years. After the first year of his leadership the school’s letter grade increased from D to B. He previously served as associate principal at Valley Mills Elementary School in Decatur Township.
Spencer has a bachelor’s degree in secondary social studies education from the University of Indianapolis and a master’s in educational administration from Ball State. He is replacing Danny Mendez, who has served as the principal for the last 10 years. Mendez has accepted an opportunity in another school district.
