Coached by Monica Wagner and featuring (from left) Ross Richardson, Sarah Mayo, Rachel Lawson, Benton Turner, Nick Arnett and Ryan Kanning, the interdisciplinary team from Lutheran High School has qualified for Saturday’s state finals of the Academic Super Bowl at Purdue. Their areas of expertise are English, math, science, social studies and fine arts.
The math team of Joey Wilkins, Forty Suptaveepipat, Sara Kadono, Jake Watkins, Turner and Kanning and the English squad of Dionte McFadden, Nina Milivojac, Drew Settlemyre, Arnett and Mayo placed second in their divisions during the qualifying rounds.
The fine arts duo of Faith Shilkett and Lawson placed first; the science team of Branden Adams, Jackson Waite and Turner placed third; and the social studies sextet of Jake Kent, Blake Sobieralski, Quentin Brown, Travis Frist, Ross Richardson and Tyler Reed finished fourth.
