SUBMITTED PHOTO Beech Grove Schools’ Students of the Month for November were recognized during the board of education’s meeting on Nov. 11. The honorees were (front) Oliver Boyce, Hornet Park Elementary, (back, from left) Toni Compton, South Grove Intermediate; Gage Hess, Beech Grove Middle; and Zachary Capps, Beech Grove High. Henry Laker from Central Elementary and Brandon Griffin, Hornet Enrichment Academy, are not pictured. The meeting also featured South Grove teachers Mary Johnson and Caralee Evans presenting a report on their Lilly Teacher Creativity Grant, “Ring of Fire and Amazing Grace.” The grant, used to reinvigorate teachers, allowed educators to study volcanoes in Hawaii and visit several aquariums across the United States over the summer.
