PHOTO BY JOHN SMITH Roncalli’s Alumni Association has named Marian University football coach Mark Henninger (center) as its Alumnus of the Year. The award is presented for service and dedication to Catholic education. Henninger, seen with Roncalli President Joseph Hollowell (left) and director of alumni services Gary Armbruster, played football at the school for coach Bruce Scifres’ first two teams in 1990 and ’91 before playing defensive back at Wittenberg University. In his third season at Marian, Henninger led the Knights to the 2015 NAIA national championship over Southern Oregon. The American Football Coaches Association named him the 2014 and ’15 NAIA Coach of the Year. He and his wife, Jeni, reside in Brownsburg with their children, Jack, Mary and Abby.
