SUBMITTED PHOTO “Crimes of the Heart,” a tragic comedy that tells the tale of the three MaGrath sisters, opens Friday for a three-weekend run at Epilogue Players. The plot unfolds when the sisters are altogether in their hometown of Hazelhurst, Miss., for the first time in a decade. Lenny, the eldest, never left Hazelhurst; she is the caretaker of the sisters’ cantankerous grandfather. Meg, the middle sister, left home to pursue stardom as a singer in Los Angeles but has only found happiness at the bottom of a bottle. And Babe has just been arrested for the murder of her abusive husband. Under the scorching heat of the Mississippi sun, past resentments bubble to the surface, and each sister must come to terms with the consequences of their own “crimes of the heart.” The cast includes (seated, from left) Mary Fischer, Allison Reddick, Molly Barrett Schultz; (standing) Steven Szydlo, Talor Poore and David Ballard. Tickets, $13 per child and senior, $15 per adult, can be reserved by calling 926-3139. Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays.
