SUBMITTED PHOTO “On Golden Pond,” a 1979 play by Ernest Thompson, opens Friday for a three-weekend run at Epilogue Players, 1849 N. Alabama St. The production centers on Norman Thayer (left, Steve Demuth) and his wife, Ethel (Serita Borgeas), who spend their summers at their home on a lake called Golden Pond in Maine. They are seen rehearsing a heated discussion with Charlie the mailman (Kevin Shadle). During the year the story takes place, the Thayers are visited by daughter Chelsea (Kelli Conkin) and her fiance (Jack Razzumich) and his son (Cormac Doebbeling). The story explores the often turbulent relationship the young woman shared with her father while she was growing up and the difficulties faced by a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Tickets, $12 and $13, can be reserved by calling 926-3139 or emailing [email protected].
