Country music artist Hunter Hayes will headline the musical performances and Olympic gold medalists Shawn Johnson and David Boudia will make appearances during the U.S. Olympic Committee’s Road to Rio Tour stop at Monument Circle Friday and Saturday.
The tour is stopping in advance of the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics and coincides with the Olympic diving trials being hosted at the IU Natatorium on the IUPUI campus.
Activities, all of which are free and include a zip line, a long jump competition and basketball games, will run from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
Hayes, the youngest male performer to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with his single “Wanted,” will be featured at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Country musician Thomas Finchum, who attended Lutheran High School and was a member of the 2008 Olympic diving team, will perform at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
