The Johnson County Extension Homemakers are hosting their third annual Dog Tags Triathlon Saturday for the benefit of struggling veterans and families. Participating teams will consist of a man and woman competing in golf (at Tameka Woods Golf Club in Trafalgar) bowling (Hi-Way Lanes in Franklin) and cornhole (Johnson County Fairgrounds). Summerfest Saturday at German Park
The Indianapolis Liederkranz will host its annual Summerfest from 5-10:30 p.m. Saturday at German Park, 8600 S. Meridian St. The celebration will feature German food and drink and music from the Liederkranz Brass Band and the Jay Fox Bavarian Showtime Band. YMCA Offers Sports League
Registration is underway for Baxter YMCA’s soccer, football, T-ball and baseball leagues, which are open to 3- to 15-year-olds. Practices will take place one evening each week with games on Saturdays. The cost varies because the Y offers a sliding fee scale based on household income.
