Retail Shop Holding Sale
The Kids Retail Shoppe, located at Westside Church of the Nazarene, 8610 W. 10th St., is holding a sale from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Bargains will include gently used clothes for infants through teens, coats, toys, books, baby items and maternity wear.

Benefit Spaghetti Dinner

 A benefit spaghetti dinner for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be hosted by Alpha chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa and Thrivent Financial from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday at Jubilee Hall, 39 S. Front St., Whiteland. Dinners include bread sticks, salad, a cookie and lemonade or iced tea. Tickets are $10 at the door or $15 for two when ordering in advance at www2.jdrf.org/goto/spaghetti_dinner. Soft drinks are an additional $1.  
 
Benefit for Spinal Cord Research
Cars for the Cause, a fundraiser for Samantha Jo Bartlett and spinal cord research, will be held from 2 p.m.-midnight at Time 2 Play Gameroom, 3137 E. Thompson Road. Bartlett, daughter of Richard and Angelia Bartlett and a junior at Southport High School, suffered a spinal cord injury in a car accident when she was 4 and is confined to a wheelchair. Advance tickets are $16 each or four for $48, $21 at the door. The cost includes unlimited games, food and drinks, a raffle ticket, a T-shirt and a car show. Info: 317-430-0198 or 317-519-9606.  

Interested in Working With Nonprofits
Leadership Johnson County will host a program from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at Whiteland High School, 300 E. Main St., for people interested in working with nonprofit agencies. Info: www.leadershipjohnsoncounty.org or call 317-738-8094. 

Manual Class of 1972 Reunion
Manual High School’s Class of 1972 will host its 45-year reunion from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Primo Banquet & Conference Center, 2615 National Ave., where a classic car show (no awards) will be held at 5 p.m. There is no fee to enter, the show is open to everyone. Free Vision Screenings
The Southport Lions Club will offer free vision screenings to children ages 1-6 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Sept. 19-21, at Southport Library, 2630 E. Stop 11 Road. Info: AJ Johnson at 317-250-3556. 

Farmers Market Needs Vendors
Tractor Supply, 1460 S. U.S 31, Greenwood, will host a farmers market  Saturday, Oct. 7, and is looking for artisans and gardeners to sell their goods. Their is no charge to participate. Info: visit the store or www.TSCEventPartners.com.

Franciscan Health Offers Wellness Programs
A program highlighting the truths and fallacies of the latest weight-loss strategies will be hosted by the Franciscan Health Heart Center, 8111 S. Emerson Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21. The center will also hold a workshop on preparing easy and nutritious meals at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28. Call 317-782-4422 or visit www.franciscan

Free Inspections of Car Seats
Franciscan Health will offer free inspections of car and booster seats from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, in the parking lot of its Weight Loss Center, 5230 E. Stop 11 Road. Statistics indicate that the leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13 is automobile accidents. Those unable to attend can arrange an inspection by calling 317-528-5774.

Fashion Show
Gateway Services of Johnson County, which serves disabled teenagers and adults, will host its annual men’s and women’s fall fashion show, luncheon and silent auction from 10:15 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Christian Church, 381 N. Bluff Road, Greenwood. Tickets are $40 and can be reserved by calling 317-738-5500. 

Tickets on Sale for Music Festival

Phantogram, Dr. Dog, Bishop Briggs, Real Estate and Flint Eastwood will be among the headliners at the fifth annual Fountain Square Musical Festival Oct. 6 and 7. They and more than 30 other artists, including Shiny Penny, Slater Hogan, Player Piano and Brandon Whyde, will perform at four indoor venues and at an outdoor main stage at Virginia and Woodlawn avenues. Tickets, $49 for Oct. 6, $59 for Oct. 7 and $99 for both days, can be purchased at fountainsquaremusicfest.org and ticketfly.com.
