Dinner and Band at Greenwood VFW 
The Reunion Band, known for its sock hop music, will perform Friday at Greenwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5864, 333 S. Washington. The group will take the stage after a pork loin dinner is served from 6-8 p.m. Dinner tickets are $10 if purchased in advance, $12 at the door. The post is looking for volunteer bartenders to man its beer truck at Saturday’s Greenwood Freedom Festival. Three-hour shifts are available. Info: 317-888-2488. 

Thrift Store Celebrating Anniversary
Humble Impressions, a thrift store located at 3530 S. Keystone Ave., will observe its fifth anniversary from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.  The celebration will feature live music, a silent auction, karaoke, children’s games, food, drinks and door prizes. Info: 317-908-8635.

Benefit Swing Dance
Agape Performing Arts Company will host a benefit swing dance at 7 p.m. Saturday at McGowan Hall, 1305 N. Delaware St. Proceeds will help the hall to purchase high-quality theater lights and sound and tech equipment. Agape is a youth theater ministry of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Info About Insurance Through Affordable Care Act
Information about insurance plans offered through the Affordable Care Act and Healthy Indiana Plan – HIP 2.0 will be covered from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Eskenzi Health, 720 Eskenazi Ave. The event will allow uninsured people to learn about the various options before the deadline for enrollment in the fall. Hundreds of Dogs and Cats Can Be Adopted
More than 1,000 dogs and cats from approximately 25 animal shelters and rescue organizations will be up for adoption from noon-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Indy Mega-Adoption at the Indiana State Fairgrounds’ South Pavalion. The animals are fixed, vaccinated and microchipped and can be adopted for $30. Pets will go home with their new owners the same day. Admission is free, but parking at the fairgrounds is $5.
