Program Offers Insight About Dementia
Right at Home, 5602 Madison Ave., which provides in-home care and assistance, will host the “Dementia Live” immersion program at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29. The program is a simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia. Call 317-536-0231 to register.

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

The Perry Township/Southport Historical Society will showcase its archive of old newspapers, including The Spotlight, The Community Chief, The Southside Gazette and The Southside Newsette, when meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Perry Township Education Center, 6548 Orinoco Ave. Guests are welcome. Jim Rhoades Memorial Hog Roast 

The Franklin Rotary Club will host the Jim Rhoades Memorial Hog Roast from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. Lunch is free but donations will be accepted; Dine in or carryout will be available. The event’s namesake started the hog roast and formerly hosted it in the parking lot of his Rhoades True Value Hardware store. Info: John Auld at 317-738-8277.

Small Business Saturday Is Nov. 25 
Beech Grove is participating in Small Business Saturday. From 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, shoppers can visit Main Street businesses for savings by bringing in shopping passports, available at the Delta Theta Tau craft fair at Beech Grove High, Beech Grove Bowl, Treasure Trove in the Grove, Spalding Jewelry, The Vault, Rustic Root, Eckstein Shoes, Face It, Your Nailed and Mom’s Family Restaurant. Completed passports can be turned in at Beech Grove Bowl, Eckstein Shoes or Rustic Root for a chance to win a $100 gift basket.
 
License Branches Closed Thursday, Friday
All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle branches will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Branches will resume regular business hours Saturday. Visit www.myBMV to complete an online transaction.
