The artwork of Greenwood resident Gary Jursik, who’s known for his contemporary botanical paintings, will be showcased through August at the Southside Art League. While completing his degree at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture & Art, Jursik took various art classes. His later exposure to horticulture and photography activities inspired him to create oil paintings of botanical and other images. His paintings hang in business and private collections and at the current 90th annual exhibit of The Hoosier Salon at the Indiana History Center. The league, 299 E. Broadway St., Greenwood, is open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday; admission is free. Appointments outside of those hours can be arranged by calling 882-5562. |
