
![]() SUBMITTED PHOTO “Eyes of History,” an exhibit that depicts more than 70 award-winning photographs by photojournalists who cover the White House, is on display at Central Library through Jan. 10. The Political Photo of the Year (above), taken by Brendan Smialowski, is “Purple Heart,” whose caption is: “In a suit and body armor, Secretary of State John Kerry pauses for a moment after arriving at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, on Sept. 10, prior to a second round of face-to-face meetings with leaders about the Islamic State.” Still photography, video and multimedia works from such news services as Getty Images, Agence France-Presse, ITN, The Washington Post, “National Geographic” and NPR will also be displayed.
