Timing is everything in this comedy of marital errors. John Smith is a simple cab driver who leads a rather complicated life. He’s happily married – but to two women. Neither wife is aware of the other because John maintains a precise schedule that divides his time between them in their separate homes.
All enjoy wedded bliss until that schedule is disrupted and reporters and police detectives are on the trail of the “two” John Smiths. While chaos ensues, he receives some assistance from his neighbor, Stanley Gardner, who has just learned of his friend’s double life and – at least for a while – is a bit jealous.
With outrageous stories and little white lies, John scrambles to keep his life and his marriages from unraveling. He’s apparently ready to do anything it takes – even if that means eating the newspaper.
