The men’s basketball team from Marian University snapped its five-game losing streak Dec. 7 when defeating Anderson 83-81.
The Knights (8-6, 0-4 Crossroads Conference) were led by Andrew Jordan with 22 points and Perry Meridian graduate Curtis Green, who scored 16 points.
Marian will play in the Keiser Classic in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Dec. 20 and 21 before visiting Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis Dec. 28.
The lady Knights (11-2, 3-1) split a pair of games last week, losing to Indiana Wesleyan 56-39 at home Dec. 7 and defeating IU Northwest 65-60 on the road Saturday. The team’s Roncalli grads, Kellie Kirkhoff and Rachel Titzer, scored eight and three points, respectively, in the second game.
The women will also compete in the Keiser Classic (Dec. 16 and 17) before returning home to meet Georgetown (Kentucky) at 6 p.m. Dec. 22.
UIndy’s men’s team defeated Olivet Nazarene (Illinois) 85-62 at home Saturday behind five players scoring in double figures, including Roncalli graduate Jimmy King, who chipped in 11 points.
The Greyhounds will travel to Florida to play Nova Southeastern Dec. 16 in Fort Lauderdale and Barry Dec. 19 in Miami Shores.
The lady ’Hounds (6-3, 1-1) defeated Cedarville (Ohio) 58-39 on the road Saturday behind 14 points from Sydney Brackemyer and 12 from Devin Ferguson.
