The facility is working on six new indoor/outdoor kennels and repairs to fencing, a new website and other projects.
The project is part of the shelter’s planning effort to ensure that it can continue to care for at-risk dogs and cats, much like it has since 1987.
Formerly known as the Southside Animal Shelter, the rescue adopted its new name to reflect the personal touch emotion, energy and commitment that founder Rosie Ellis brings to helping dogs and cats every day.
Ellis said she and her staff are looking forward to continuing their work with the community to make a difference in the lives of rescued animals.
