The art exhibit “The Department of Yes: 10 Years of Big Car Collaborative in Indianapolis” opens Monday, Aug. 25, at the DeHaan Fine Arts Center on the University of Indianapolis campus, 1400 E. Hanna Ave.
The retrospective show, which runs through Sept. 26, highlights a decade of work by the Indianapolis-based arts and community-building collective Big Car, as its affiliated artists have experimented with collaborative projects, programs and exhibitions ranging from surreal performances to family-friendly social engagement. Visitors will experience an interactive, multimedia timeline of past work and also can take part in new work being made in the gallery space.
An opening reception will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8. Regular hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. weekdays; there is no admission charge.
