While enjoying the delicious dessert of the same name, the students learned about the history of the mathematical number and memorized as many digits of it as they could in a competition. SUBMITTED PHOTO Boy Scout Troop 39 and Cub Scout Pack 39 will participate in the annual Scouting for Food program, which runs from March 14 through April 19. The boys will go door to door collecting nonperishable food items for the community’s needy. The national campaign will net Boy Scouts of America millions of pounds of food. If the Scouts miss your home and you want to donate, contributions can be dropped off at Southport United Methodist Church, 1947 E. Southport Road.
