If you want to enjoy a great spaghetti dinner while contributing to a worthy cause, you won’t want to miss Saturday’s Tech Trek at Nativity Grade School. The fundraiser was launched five years ago when then first-year teacher and Indiana University graduate Marissa Garza noticed that the school’s technology resources were almost nonexistent. Garza had just completed her student teaching and was used to at least having an LCD projector, which the school didn’t have. see more

Heather Green, an educator at the Perry Township Early Childhood Academy, received the Christine L. Fisher Award at the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children conference. see more
Falcons down Cards in pitchers’ duel
Perry Meridian’s Jesse Wainscott and Southport’s A.J. Short locked together April 17 in a duel that added another chapter to the baseball Battle of Perry Township. The Falcons prevailed 1-0 in a true pitchers’ duel as Bryce Garrity drove the ball over the glove of Southport second baseman Dustin Church and sent home Luke Arkins in the fifth. see more
Flashes’ first win
After opening with eight straight loses, Franklin Central finally won its first game Friday against visiting Beech Grove, 11-1, in five innings.
The Flashes took advantage of timely hitting and eight walks, including a bases-loaded walk as senior Chris Ford strolled in from third with the mandatory game-ending 10-run margin. see more
