“I would like to thank the mayor for awarding me the Shining Star,” More said. “It’s cool he thought of an award for volunteering because volunteering is really important. You don’t do it for yourself; you do it for the community as a whole.”
More said she was asked to play the part of the headless horseman because her horse would be calm enough to not get spooked when she put on the costume.“I expected him to be antsy. He was calm and posed for pictures. It was really cool because it wasn’t me at the center of attention. It was the costume. No one knew who I was for a while.”
There to watch More receive her award was her mother, Jen Coryell, her grandparents and twin sister.
