| With a rain storm definitely on the way, 74 true car nuts braved the weather and brought their hot rods out to the Beech Grove Rail Rodders Car Show on Saturday at Amtrak. Sam Emerson, with the help of his friends and family, brought his entire collection of six old cruisers. Mike Fisher, Rick Taylor, Rick Burton, Rick Bowman and Nick Fisher spent countless hours planning and preparing for the annual show. All proceeds will be donated to the Beech Grove Police Department’s Shop With a Cop program and the Beech Grove Kids Fire Safety Program. The show was sponsored by Dunham Rubber and Belting and Bomar Industries, which custom made the trophies. Best of Show was won by John Rash for his custom-built 1960 Corvette. His ’Vette also won Best Corvette at the 2013 Good Guys Car Show. With this year’s show behind them, the Rail Rodders are already planning for next year’s event. Great job, guys. Until next week, keep on cruising! |
