The free writers program will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 with Aaron Michael Morales, whose fiction has appeared in “Superstition Review,” “Another Chicago Magazine” and “Passages North.”
Also featured will be poet and fiction writer Shonda Buchanan, Sept. 23; Pulitzer Prize-winning nonfiction author Tracy Kidder, Nov. 12; award-winning writer Scott Russel Sanders, Nov. 18; filmmaker and author Alec Cizak, March 7; and poet Adrian Matejka, April 13.
The free jazz concerts will start Oct. 14 with vocalist Rachel Caswell. The series will continue with Jared Thompson & Premium Blend on Nov. 4, saxophonist Sophie Faught, Feb. 17; and trumpeter Marlin McKay, March 23.
The theater season will get under way with “King Lear,” Oct. 23, 24 and 29-31. Student-directed plays will be presented Dec. 4-6 and 10-12. “Out of Order” will be the presentation for the dinner theater Feb. 19-21 and 25-27. “The Laramie Project” will close out the season April 22-24 and 28-30.
Tickets to the dinner show are $24 and $26, $10 and $12 for the other presentations.
