Rummage Sale
Emmaus Lutheran Church, 1224 Laurel St., will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. All merchandise will be marked down 50 percent Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the church’s pantry.
Fish and Tenderloin Fry
Christ United Methodist Church, 8540 S. U.S. 31, will hold a fish and tenderloin fry from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, and from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. Chicken fingers, side dishes and desserts are also on the menu. Dine-in, carryout and delivery service will be available.
Free Child Seat Inspections
Franciscan Health, formerly know as St. Francis Health, will offer free inspections of children’s safety seats from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 5230 E. Stop 11 Road, Suite A. Children’s car seats will be provided for families that can prove they are receiving public assistance, and the child must be present. Card Party, Quilt Raffle

Running Events, Health Fair
The sixth annual Coach Hathaway’s Running South will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, at Perry Stadium, corner of Shelby Street and Banta Road. The program will feature a kiddy romp, a 1-mile run, 5- and 10K runs and a health fair from 7:30-11:30 a.m. The event, a benefit for the Perry Township Education Foundation, is named in honor of the late Tom Hathaway, who taught and coached in Perry Township Schools for 44 years and ran 131 marathons, many half-marathons and countless other races. Program Helps Children, Teens Handle Grief
Caterpillar Kids, a grief support program that offers learning experiences for children ages 5 to 12, will meet from 4:30-6 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 5 at Christ United Methodist Church, 8540 S. U.S. 31. A similar program for teenagers meets at the same time. Parents are invited to participate in a concurrent session to assist them in supporting their children. Children’s Concert Will Appeal to All Ages
The Greater Greenwood Community Band will present a children’s concert at 7 p.m. Sunday in Surina Square, south of Main and Meridian streets and behind the fire station in Greenwood. From Disney favorites to classic cartoon melodies, the concert will appeal to all ages. A “petting zoo” of the instruments will be held from 6-7 p.m. Those attending can bring lawn chair, blankets and goodies.
