“Dirty Blonde,” a touching and hilarious tribute to Mae West, opens Sept. 30 for two weekends at Buck Creek Players, 11150 Southeastern Ave.
The 1930s film star comes roaring back to life when two super-fans meet at her grave and form a hesitant friendship. Together, their celebrity fantasies form a strikingly human portrait of one of the world’s favorite and wittiest sex symbols.
Curtain time for the play, whose cast includes Jay Hemphill and Sonja Distefano, is 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Tickets, $16 for students and senior citizens, $18 for adults, can be reserved by calling 862-2270 or visiting www.buckcreekplayers.com. Group rates are available for parties of 10 or more.
